Everyone else had gone home an hour ago. The office was dark except for their two screens, glowing blue-white in the silence. "You missed a comma on page twelve," she said, sliding the report across the desk. Her chair rolled closer to his. She didn't roll it back. "You came back at ten o'clock to tell me about a comma?" "It's an important comma." She was trying not to smile. He could tell because her lips pressed together in exactly the way they did during meetings when he said something that amused her and she didn't want anyone to notice. He noticed every time.
